Beaumont Art League http://beaumontartleague.org Thu, 18 Apr 2013 23:17:34 +0000 en-US hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.5.1 CALL FOR ENTRIES – NECHES RIVER FESTIVAL SHOW http://beaumontartleague.org/2013/03/call-for-entries-neches-river-festival-show/ http://beaumontartleague.org/2013/03/call-for-entries-neches-river-festival-show/#comments Thu, 07 Mar 2013 01:23:23 +0000 BAL Admin http://beaumontartleague.org/?p=468 Daylight Savings time is nearly here and Spring is in the air!  An appropriate time then to celebrate an important natural resource in the Southeast Texas area – the Neches River.  The annual Neches River Festival Exhibition is in its 65th year and will be on display in the BAL’s Brown Gallery space beginning Wednesday, April 3 through Saturday, April 27.  The league will begin accepting your entries (limit of 3) on Wednesday, March 27 through Saturday, March 30 (11 am to 3 pm).  This show is held in conjunction with the Neches River Festival a popular Beaumont tradition initiated in the Spring of 1949 that continues to thrive today.  We encourage all local artists to enter this exciting show that gives cash awards to 1st – 3rd Places totaling $700 dollars.  The exhibition prospectus with the specific guidelines is listed under the events section of our site under the NRF Show.

An important deadline is fast upon us!  The Beaumont Art League is hosting its 51st Annual National Exhibition and Competition from May 1 – 31. The deadline for artists to submit entries is Thursday, February 14.  If you are an artist locally or nationally please send in your information ASAP!  The prospectus is on our website so look there for the particulars of how to submit artwork.  CASH PRIZES TOTALING $5,000 will be awarded at the Opening Reception on May 11, 2013.  This is the BAL’s most acclaimed exhibition of the year so DO NOT MISS THIS EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY to showcase your work with other accomplished artists from around the country.

2013 marks the 70th Anniversary of the Beaumont Art League.  Established in May 1943, the Art League has maintained an influential place in the Southeast Texas art scene. We hope to continue serving the local arts community by promoting art appreciation, showcasing regional and nationally-known artists, and fostering art education.

With the new year comes a new look at the BAL! This includes this new website, designed by advisory board member Bryan Lee, and a new logo, designed by artist Joey Blazek. Our facilities are also getting a facelift, with newly-painted doors in a fresh, bright green color, and a new street sign that will be installed shortly.
